News / "PHARMAPOGLYAD-2020": news and plans for the future of the pharmaceutical industry of Ukraine.
On February 13-14, 2020, the annual analytical forum "PHARMAPOGLYAD-2020" took place. At the event, the speakers paid great attention to the draft order of the Ministry of Health "On Amendments to the Criteria Used in Determining Medicinal Products Prohibited from Advertising" . The resonant document significantly restricts the opportunities for OTC market participants to advertise drugs, in particular on television and radio. Thus, in case of adoption of the proposed alterations, the market will be banned from advertising nonprescription drug, which has the same name as the prescription drug. Furthermore, it is proposed to correct by removing the narrowing "exclusively" two prohibitive advertising criteria: - exclusively for the treatment of women during pregnancy and lactation; - exclusively for the treatment of children under 12 years. The list of banned drugs also includes those used in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. There will be some changes in the restrictions on the advertising of drugs designed to treat dangerous infectious and parasitic human diseases, as well as sleep disorders. What are the risks for the TV advertising market including about 27% of pharmaceutical brands? In 2020, the possible redistribution of the marketing mix may take place in favor of information carriers located at points of sale and informing the citizens of Ukraine about the product or service sold in this place.
